Building Websites with AI: It's Different Now

I've been able to do more in less time and at a higher quality than ever in my career. Working with AI has completely changed how I build websites - it really feels like I'm just focusing on the basics of HTML and CSS. But here's what's wild - that solid foundation is all I needed to start wielding React and Next.js effectively.

Like, I'm not getting lost in complex framework documentation. Instead, I'm just describing what I want in regular HTML and CSS terms, and AI helps translate that into React components and Next.js patterns. Need a responsive navigation? I explain the HTML structure and CSS behaviors I want, and suddenly we're building a clean React component. It's letting me use these powerful frameworks without getting bogged down in their complexities.

Next.js especially has been a game changer. All those things that usually make web development a headache - image optimization, routing, page layouts - they're just... handled. I'm still in control of how everything looks and works, but I'm not fighting with the technical setup. When I need something specific, I just describe what I want in plain terms, and AI helps me implement it in Next.js's way of doing things.

Working alongside AI to spot-check and understand code hasn't just helped me shake off development rust - it's letting me put ideas onto a canvas faster than ever. The barriers to actually completing things have dropped significantly. I'm iterating faster, getting ideas out faster, and actually finishing projects.
